About My Violins and Bows

I follow the basic design ideas of Amati, Stradivari and Guarneri in the violins I build, although I am not averse to adding some particular individual character like the purfling above. I am also building with Canadian woods, particularly Western Big Leaf Maple and "Seawater" Sitka Spruce which give a surprisingly warm and powerful tone to the violin.

My bows are based on the Torte model with ebony frogs and sterling and fine silver appointments.
